# Set up same day delivery

> Set up same-day delivery in Shopify and sync it correctly with your fulfillment system.

<Note>
  This feature is only available for Shopify Grow plan (or higher) in Egypt.
</Note>

Same-day delivery allows customers to receive their orders on the same day of purchase. You configure this directly in Shopify using shipping rates and zones.

<Warning>
  Only orders placed before 12:30 PM are eligible for same-day delivery.\
  Orders placed after this time will be processed for next-day delivery, even if the customer selects "Same Day Delivery" during checkout.

## Step 1: Access shipping settings

<Steps>

    Go to the **Settings** tab at the bottom left of your Shopify admin.

  <Step title="Go to shipping and delivery">
    Click **Shipping and delivery** from the settings menu.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Manage shipping rates">
    On the Shipping and Delivery page, click **General shipping rates**.

## Step 2: Define the shipping zone

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create a shipping zone">
    Scroll to **Shipping zones** and click **Add shipping zone**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select country">
    Choose **Egypt** from the list.

    <Note>
      If Egypt does not appear, click **Add more countries/regions** in Markets to enable it.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select coverage area">
    Select the specific governorates where you want to apply same-day delivery, and click **Done**.
  </Step>

## Step 3: Configure the same-day delivery rate

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add a rate">
    Find your newly created zone and click **Add rate**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set rate configuration">
    Configure the rate as follows:

    * <b>Rate Type:</b>
      Use flat rate
    * <b>Shipping Rate:</b>
      Custom
    * <b>Custom Rate Name:</b>
      Same Day Delivery
    * <b>Price:</b>
      Set your same-day delivery fee

    <Warning>
      You must type the rate name exactly as "Same Day Delivery".\
      This is required for the system to correctly detect and sync same-day delivery orders.
    </Warning>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save changes" stepNumber={3}>
    Click **Done**, then **Save** at the top of the page.
  </Step>

## Step 4: Customer checkout experience

Once configured:

* Customers must select a supported governorate at checkout.
* Available delivery options will appear based on location.
* Customers can choose between:
  * Regular Delivery
  * Same Day Delivery
  * Other delivery methods manually set up

## Troubleshooting

### Same-day delivery is not showing at checkout

* Confirm the customer address is within the configured shipping zone
* Ensure the shipping rate is saved correctly
* Verify the rate name matches exactly: <b>Same Day Delivery</b>

### Orders are not recognized as same-day

* Check the rate name spelling
* Confirm the order was placed using the correct shipping option

## Best practices

* Limit same-day delivery to operationally manageable areas
* Clearly communicate availability on your storefront
* Monitor fulfillment performance and delivery times
