This feature is only available for Shopify Grow plan (or higher) in Egypt.
Same-day delivery allows customers to receive their orders on the same day of purchase. You configure this directly in Shopify using shipping rates and zones.
Only orders placed before 12:30 PM are eligible for same-day delivery.
Orders placed after this time will be processed for next-day delivery, even if the customer selects “Same Day Delivery” during checkout.

Step 1: Access shipping settings

Open Shopify settings

Go to the Settings tab at the bottom left of your Shopify admin.

Go to shipping and delivery

Click Shipping and delivery from the settings menu.

Manage shipping rates

On the Shipping and Delivery page, click General shipping rates.

Step 2: Define the shipping zone

Create a shipping zone

Scroll to Shipping zones and click Add shipping zone.

Select country

Choose Egypt from the list.
If Egypt does not appear, click Add more countries/regions in Markets to enable it.

Select coverage area

Select the specific governorates where you want to apply same-day delivery, and click Done.

Step 3: Configure the same-day delivery rate

Add a rate

Find your newly created zone and click Add rate.

Set rate configuration

Configure the rate as follows:
  • Rate Type: Use flat rate
  • Shipping Rate: Custom
  • Custom Rate Name: Same Day Delivery
  • Price: Set your same-day delivery fee
You must type the rate name exactly as “Same Day Delivery”.
This is required for the system to correctly detect and sync same-day delivery orders.

Save changes

Click Done, then Save at the top of the page.

Step 4: Customer checkout experience

Once configured:
  • Customers must select a supported governorate at checkout.
  • Available delivery options will appear based on location.
  • Customers can choose between:
    • Regular Delivery
    • Same Day Delivery
    • Other delivery methods manually set up

Troubleshooting

Same-day delivery is not showing at checkout

  • Confirm the customer address is within the configured shipping zone
  • Ensure the shipping rate is saved correctly
  • Verify the rate name matches exactly: Same Day Delivery

Orders are not recognized as same-day

  • Check the rate name spelling
  • Confirm the order was placed using the correct shipping option

Best practices

  • Limit same-day delivery to operationally manageable areas
  • Clearly communicate availability on your storefront
  • Monitor fulfillment performance and delivery times
